Belarus Free Theatre: Artists Fighting Oppression

VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM Cromwell Road SW7 2RL London

Part of the V&A Performance Festival

Join members of Belarus Free Theatre for an afternoon exploring their work, artistic process, and the dual nature of their existence in Minsk and London.

We’ll start with a screening of the documentary Acting For Freedom – The Battle of Belarus Free Theatre, followed by a post-screening discussion with the director and members of the company, an interactive presentation of BFT’s work, and a live link up to Minsk.

The Goethe-Institut London is particularly delighted to be facilitating the post-screening discussion with Friedemann Hottenbacher (filmmaker from Germany) and Sveta Sugako (Belarus Free Theatre, Minsk) enabling the urgent debate around censorship, freedom of democracy and the power of arts in this respect.

Supported by the Goethe-Institut London.

Free admission, booking essential.
