Dorky Park: Open for Everything

Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, London

As part of the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT), the Goethe-Institut brings Constanza Macras and her Berlin-based group of musicians, performers and dancers Dorky Park to the London stage. For the piece exploring the Roma communities of Europe, Dorky Park founder and choreographer Constanza Macras travelled through Roma communities and incorporated Roma dancers in the performance. They convey the traditions, prejudices, clich├ęs, poverty and violence that coined their lives into the piece. Dorky Park consists of artists from various backgrounds and ages and has worked with many international cultural institutions. They offer a mixture of dance, theatre, music and video to highlight historical or contemporary social issues. Until 18 June 2016.
