What is Tandem Learning

The idea behind Tandem or reciprocal language learning is to exchange language skills so that in each case a native speaker, who is also a language learner, offers and receives language practice. Usually, the pair meets by arrangement and spends an equal amount of time speaking each language. The native speaker can facilitate the conversation and correct any mistakes. Such a system is often seen as an adjunct to a language course, as typically neither of the participants are trained language teachers.
